DARLINGTONS MAY 30th MEETING CANCELLED!!

Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this Saturday's race meeting at Darlington, scheduled for May 30th.
The track is currently in excellent condition and ready to go. However, there is rain forecast for Saturday afternoon, and we have to make the right decision for our competitors, officials, volunteers, spectators, and the club as a whole.
We have been keeping a very close eye on the weather forecast for more than a week, and unfortunately the outlook has progressively worsened over the past few days. While nobody wants to call a meeting off when so much work has gone into preparing the facility, the forecast leaves us with little choice but to make a proactive decision now rather than risk putting everyone in a difficult position later.
As a club, we have worked extremely hard to move forward and shake the reputation of the past few years. That means making decisions that are responsible, proactive, and in the best interests of everyone involved.
We know the May 9 meeting didn't go to plan. We rolled the dice, assessed the information available at the time, and made a call. Whether it was ultimately the right or wrong decision doesn't matter now—we learn from it and move forward. One thing that is clear is that the club incurred a substantial financial loss from that meeting, and as custodians of the club's future, we simply cannot afford for that to happen again this season. While racing is always our priority, ensuring the long-term sustainability of Mid Western Speedway must also be part of every decision we make.
Unfortunately, this cancellation also brings our 2025/26 season to a close. While it's not the way we wanted to finish the season, we'd like to thank all of our competitors, officials, volunteers, sponsors and supporters who have helped make the year possible.
Also we would like to thank the guys from Southern 500 speedway Portland for offering to come and help with crash crew for this meeting, if we can return the favour we will for sure, tracks need to work together to help each other out when in need.
Keep an eye out for the release of the 2026/27 race calendar. We have some massive events already programmed, and we're incredibly excited about what lies ahead for Mid Western Speedway. The future is looking bright, and we can't wait to share what's coming next.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to seeing everyone back at the track for an even bigger and better 2026/27 season.
