From the beginning: A legacy forged in dirt

Mid-Western Speedway began its journey in 1968, thanks to the vision of Bob Ross and other founding members of the Mortlake Car Club. Over the years, our club has faced numerous challenges, from devastating floods to disheartening thefts and vandalism. Yet, through it all, our community's resilience shines through, and we always continue to bounce back stronger.

Today, the dedicated committee works tirelessly to rebuild the club to its former glory, ensuring the spirit of grassroots racing thrives in Darlington, VIC. Join us as we honour our past and race towards a brighter future.

The people behind the passion

The heart and soul of Mid-Western Speedway are its people. Visionaries like Bob Ross, instrumental in the track's development until 2012, and Norman Fisher, and Bill Aurisch, dedicated long-term supporters, laid the groundwork for what we are today. The Mortlake Car Club members, past and present, continue to be the backbone of our operation, volunteering their time and passion to keep the roar of engines alive.

Their unwavering commitment and love for speedway racing ensure that Mid-Western Speedway remains a vibrant and welcoming place for all.
